Line 3 IAMC Line-Wide Gathering 2025

February 5-6, 2025

Purpose: The Line 3 IAMC is inviting impacted Nations along the Enbridge Line 3/93 pipeline right-of-way to join us as we work to advance a national movement towards Indigenous Regulatory Participation, centered on the question:Who better to decide the future of land, air, species, and resources than the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have stewarded these lands for generations?

Key Topics:

  • Share the achievements, struggles and learnings on our journey so far.
  • Highlight key updates for the Line 3 IAMC Terms of Reference
  • Gather feedback from Rights Holding Nations to shape the direction of our work.

Onshore Pipelines and Filing Manuals (OPR-FM) Workshop

Feb 7, 2025

What: The Canada Energy Regulator (CER) is reviewing the Onshore Pipeline Regulations (OPR) and the Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment and Lands portion of the Filing Manuals (FM).  The CER is considering the lessons learned and feedback from regulated companies, Indigenous Peoples, landowners, and others.  The OPR are the main regulations used to oversee pipelines in Canada.  The FM explains what the include in an application for a potential project.  Visit the CER OPR website for more information.

Purpose:  The Line 3 IAMC will be facilitating this workshop to hear your perspective on regulatory issues and options for the CER OPR/FM review.

Background: The Line 3 IAMC created the first ever Indigenous monitoring program which has since worked alongside the Canada Energy Regulator.

New Focus: Our focus is shifting to a longer-term goal: contribute to transforming regulatory systems to secure First Nations and Métis Nation regulatory authority.

Role of the Line 3 IAMC:

  • Support and amplify the voices of Rights-Holding Nations, not to hold rights ourselves.
  • Collaborate to champion community needs while safeguarding autonomy.

Who: 2 x Individuals per Nation or Region – Leadership, Elders, Youth, Technicians, and Indigenous Monitors are encouraged to attend.

Where: The Fort Garry Hotel & Spa, Winnipeg, Manitoba
