Ron Swains

Ron Swain is a member of Swan Lake First Nation, located in Treaty 1 territory. He joined the Line 3 Indigenous Advisory and Monitoring Committee in 2026 as a new committee member, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in policing, governance, economic development, negotiation, program development, and community engagement.

Throughout his career, Ron has worked with First Nations, governments, and organizations at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels. His professional background reflects a strong commitment to building relationships, supporting community priorities, and advancing practical solutions through collaboration and respectful dialogue.

As a new member of the committee, Ron contributes a broad understanding of leadership, public service, and Indigenous governance. His experience strengthens the committee’s work by supporting informed discussion, relationship-building, and continued attention to the lands, waters, and communities connected to the Line 3 process.
