The Line 3 Indigenous Advisory and Monitoring Committee (IAMC) will be launching an Emergency Management Planning Support Initiative in 2026 to strengthen emergency preparedness amongst Line 3-impacted First Nations and Métis governments across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

The program will provide external support to develop or update Community Emergency Management Plans (CEMPs) and/or Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) that integrate both provincial emergency management frameworks and Indigenous knowledge systems.

In advance of the full initiative roll-out, we are inviting Line 3-impacted First Nations and participating Métis governments in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba to complete a short community interest survey to help us better understand community interest, readiness, and emergency management needs so supports can be planned and offered in a fair and equitable way.  The survey takes approximately 7 minutes to complete.

Completing the survey is not a full application and does not commit your community to participate.

Please note: All Emergency Planning supports as part of this initiative must be completed by March 31, 2027.

Early start (optional):

The initiative may begin with a small number of communities that are ready to start early. Communities interested in being considered for this early phase can indicate this in the survey. If applicable, the early consideration window will remain open until February 23, 2026.

All communities—whether or not they indicate interest in an early start—will remain eligible for the broader intake and support through the full Expression of Interest process.

Survey timeline:

The survey will remain open until March 20, 2026.

Respondents can expect to hear back from Line 3 IAMC in early April with next steps.
